Srinagar, May 03 (KNO): The teachers, who are scheduled to submit their cases after one time exemption, here have alleged that the delay in getting the bonafide certificates, mandatory for the submission, is leaving them to lurch at large. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the teachers, who were given one exemption to submit their cases of higher education which they have acquired during their services, said that they are facing immense hardships as they are being forced to wait for a long to get their bonafide certificates that is mandatory to submit their files. Teachers across Kashmir said that under Government Order No. 188-JK(Edu) of 2024 dated 15-03-2024 one time exemption was granted in favour of teaching/other staff of the School Education Department who have acquired higher qualification during service through distance/online. “Accordingly, it was impressed upon all the concerned including teaching/non- teaching staff to submit their cases requiring one time exemption complete in all respects, as required under Government Order 940-Edu of 2027 dated 17-11-2017, latest by 15th of May 2024 through proper channel failing which no such cases shall be considered for one time exemption,” they said. They, however, said that in some districts and zones, the ZEOs and CEOs have kept the last date of filling their cases on May 05 only but they are yet to get the mandatory bonafide certificates. A teacher from Khag, Budgam told KNO that last date in Khag Zone is May 05, but he has not received the bonafide certificate yet, adding that the teachers have to spend at least 3-4 days for completing the process of getting the particular certificate and opt for a leave during these days, which simultaneously is leading to the sufferings of students. Another teacher while echoing the similar voice said that they won't be able to submit their cases as they have been continuously waiting to get their bonafide certificates from Kashmir University. He said that there is a need to have a separate counter for such cases so that they can get certificates on time and get the benefit of one time relaxation. Teachers demanded that separate counters must be started at University of Kashmir for such cases and the date of filling cases must be extended so that all the teachers can file their cases without any torment. Registrar University of Kashmir Dr Naseer Iqbal told KNO that they are putting efforts to ensure the process is completed at a pace. However, he said that there is no doubt that sometimes it takes a little time to complete the process—(KNO)
